anybody going for fusion and have yet to buy the box of colour pencils for registration? evangelin came across a shop which sells 12boxes for 6bucks!? so each box is 50cents and there're 12 colour pencils in it. so those who wants to buy, tell evangelin/me or reply at tagbox. reply latest by sunday morning and pass evan money in church. okie, since the colour pencils are cheaper, it would be nice of you all if you can buy more than one box. in any case, the colour pencils will be for donations. so yup, thank you! 3) We'll be having a time of carols/worship at the end so that we do not forget why we are even able to gather together and celebrate this occasion in the first place. Any volunteers to help with this segment?

HOW YOU CAN HELP
1. Join us as a volunteer:
Volunteers help to man the red Christmas Kettle Pots and ring the bells, to help raise funds for the children, youth, elderly and needy families in our care.
· Kettling is from Mon – Sat, 11am – 9pm from 22 November – 24 December 2008.
· Each kettling shift is 2 hours (starting from every "odd" hour i.e. 11am, 1pm, 3pm etc)
· 2 volunteers to a kettling shift
· You may choose to sign up in pairs with your friends or family or we will assign another volunteer to partner you for the shift
· Kettlers need to be 15 years old as at 31 Dec this year
· For group volunteers, you are also welcome to adopt the pot for a day

Have you ever, at any one time, had the feeling that life is bad, real bad,
and you wish you were in another situation?

You find life make things difficult for you, work sucks, life sucks,
everything seems to go wrong...

Read the following story... it may change your views about life:
After a conversation with one of my friends, he told me despite taking 2
jobs, he brings back barely above 1K per month, he is happy as he is.

I wonder how he can be as happy as he is considering he has to skimp his
life with the low pay to support a pair of old parents, in-laws, a wife, 2
daughters and the many bills of a household.

He explained that it was through one incident that he saw in India that
happened a few years ago when he was really feeling low and touring India
after a major setback.

He said that right in front of his very eyes he saw an Indian mother chop
off her child's right hand with a chopper. The helplessness in the
mother's eyes, the scream of pain from the innocent 4-year-old child
haunted him until today.

You may ask why did the mother do so; had the child been naughty, had the
child's hand been infected?? No, it was done for two simple words- - -TO
BEG!

The desperate mother deliberately caused the child to be handicapped so
that the child could go out to the streets to beg.

Taken aback by the scene, he dropped a piece of bread he was eating
half-way. And almost instantly, a flock 5 or 6 children swamped towards
this small piece of bread which was covered with sand, robbing bits from
one another. The natural reaction of hunger.

Stricken by the happenings, he instructed his guide to drive him to the
nearest bakery. He arrived at two bakeries and bought every single loaf of
bread he found in the bakeries. The owner was dumbfounded but willingly
sold everything. He spent less than $100 to obtain about 400 loaves of
bread (this is less than $0.25 per loaf) and spent another $100 to get
daily necessities.

Off he went in the truck full of bread into the streets. As he distributed
the bread and necessities to the children (mostly handicapped) and a few
adults, he received cheers and bows from these unfortunate. For the first
time in his life he wondered how people can give up their dignity for a
loaf of bread which cost less than $0.25.

He began to tell himself how fortunate he is. How fortunate he is to be
able to have a complete body, have a job! , have a family, have the chance
to complain what food is nice and what isn't nice, have the chance to be
clothed, have the many things that these people in front of him are
deprived of...

Now I begin to think and feel it, too! Was my life really that bad?
Perhaps... no, I should not feel bad at all... What about you? Maybe the
next time you think you are, think about the child who lost one hand to
beg on the streets.

"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, it is the
realization of how much you already have."

When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look
so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened
for us.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's
also true that! we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they
just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go
on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

Please send this message to those people who mean something to you, to
those who have touched your life in one way or another, to those who make
you smile when you really need it, to those that make you see the brighter
side of things when you are really down, to those who you want to let them
know that you appreciate their friendship.

And if you don't, don't worry, nothing bad will happen to you, you will
just miss out on the opportunity to brighten someone's day with this
message.

As mentioned last wk, there will be a basketball game Jeredy's basketball team v.s myseconday school friends and a pizza party after church this Sunday after CG.

This is a great way to invite introduce some new friends to church thru basketball, and the a pizza part is a good way to encourage them to come to CG.

IF and only IF ur able to make it for morning service, we do hope you can be there to watch the game. It's scheduled to be at either the basketball court at Blk 108 or the indoor basketball court at GMSS. Location will b confirmed later.

Also please do come for CG this week, join us for lunch at the canteen for the pizza and especially pray that God's work will be done!

hi all cymers,
this sun is our pledge sunday.if you don't already know, the methodist church's financial year runs from aug-jul. hence, this sunday is the first sunday of the new financial year.the finance committee will be making a presentation of the budget for the year.

i'll like to encourage all of you to make a pledge.although it is still the same, amount wise, if we don't pledge but just give an offering each sunday, the pledge serves many purposes:
1. a pledge is an act of faith to trust in God's provision for all our needs for the year ahead
2. a pledge is a commitment to put God first in our finances at the start of the (financial) year
3. a pledge reminds us to depend on God for all our needs and helps us 'seek Him first'
4. a pledge reminds us that all we have is from God and we're mere stewards of all that we have
5. a pledge helps the church to make wise decisions about the finances that God's given to us
6. a pledge instils in us a discipline to honour God in our finances

so i think it's critical that we learn from young to pledge. if we develop this discipline from a young age, we learn to align our hearts to what's truly important in life, for Jesus taught that where our treasure is, there our hearts will be also.

particularly, i'd like to encourage us to pledge 10% of our pocket allowance our parents give us each month. although it is not compulsory to give 10% of what we have, it is a God-given guideline and we should seek to honour Him by making it a discipline and habit. i understand it is not easy, as many of you don't already receive much. but let's learn to be thankful for all we have, and learn to trust that God knows our needs and will give us what we need.

God is a God who will NEVER short-change us!!so, please prayerfully consider how much you want to pledge. all that needs to be done this sunday is to fill up a pledge card and offer it during the offering. do email me or call me should you have any questions about pledging, tithing (giving 10%) or any other financial related issues.

I just wanted to say that I'm so proud of all of you.
Over the last 6 months each of you have grown so much, it's incredible.
All credit goes to the leaders- Mel, Andrea, Bin and Cynthia, and also to you guys.

I can see such maturity, especially spiritually, it's just awesome.
Continue to grow in Christ, and go to church every Sunday expecting to learn something new, expecting God to speak to you directly.
I hope to see the CG grow, esp in numbers and after today's prayer walk, I'm sure you all want to see your all friends in the community get saved too.

Prayer letter from Weiwang, Daye and Boon Teck

Dear Friends in Christ,

How are you doing? We hope God is doing as many wonderful things in your life as He is in ours. We’re having a fruitful time at TRACkers, a two-month long programme organised by the Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC) Board of Youth Ministries.

Our team, consisting of ten eager God-seeking youths and led by two enthusiastic mentors, have called ourselves the Thaipostles who embody the spirit of apostleship and desire to minister to unreached people in other communities and countries. This journey of advancement in the pursuit of our destiny in Christ provides the perfect opportunity for us to grow closer to God, delve deeper into His words and seek out His purpose for us. Each day has been nothing short of revelations from God for our life.

From 12 to 19 February, we will be going on a mission trip to Chiangmai, Thailand. As we reach out to the youths at the Care Corner Orphanage Foundation and various schools as well as minister to the people of the Karen Tribe, we will be applying all that we have learnt at TRACkers and deepening our experience with God through Christian community and outreach in the context of a foreign land. Most importantly, we hope to stretch our faith through fund-raising, service and surrender to God’s will for our lives.

While God has opened up a door for us to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this kingdom work of His in several ways.

One way you can be involved is to keep us in prayer. Pray that God will bless our efforts as we minister to the people in Chiangmai and that the language barrier will not interfere with the smooth running of the programmes and activities. Pray for sustained unity within our group and that we will place God at the centre of all that we undertake. Pray for good health so that we can be more effective instruments in doing God’s work.

Here are some specific areas that we would like to be prayed for:
· Pray that we will be able to focus on God, for our hearts to seek Him and look to Him always
· Pray for our hearts to humbled, to recognise God as the one in charge, not us, and to acknowledge that His ways are higher than ours and place our trust in Him'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty." - Zechariah 4:6
· Pray for soften hearts of our parents, that we may receive full support from them to serve in the mission trip.
· Pray that we will be filled with the Holy Spirit, as we learn and serve.
· Pray that we will grow closer to God and to one another as God’s family
· Pray for divine empowerment to make impact in doing Kingdom work
· Thank God for seeing us through the past few weeks of TRACkers

Please pray that our financial needs will be met. Each of us has to raise $150, on top of the subsidies provided by TRACkers and our church, to attend this trip. You can be involved by helping to provide that financial support with a small donation.

Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer or in any other ways, all of your support will be a great encouragement to us. You can get back to us using the response slip provided.

A friend of mine tells the story of an encounter he had with a very important government official - the head of state for a country. In the course of some meetings with my friend, the official came up to him and said, "I perceive that there is a difference between you and me. Is it because I come from a different denomination?" My friend began to explain why there was a difference.

"If you were to come to my home, I would invite you in as an honored guest. As my guest, you would enjoy everything I had in my home. However, you would still be a guest. You would not have the keys to the home, and your authority in that home would be merely as a guest. However, if I said to you that I am turning over my home to you and you now have the keys to my home, I would be your servant." My friend continued, "This is the difference between you and me. You have merely invited Jeus into your home as a guest. I have given Jesus the keys to my home [heart] and I am his servant."

"How can I do this too?" the man replied.

"All you have to do is invite Him in as the new owner."

The man did this and is now allowing Jesus to rule and reign in every detail of his life.

So often many of us enter a relationship with God that brings us salvation. This is the gospel of salvation. But what God really desires for us is to experience the gospel of the Kingdom. He wants us to experience His power and presence every day of our lives and to see His hand at work in us. This only happens when we give Him the key to our life; He must be more than an honored guest.

Where are you today? Has your life with God been more like an honored-guest relationship, or does He have the key to your life?

Trackers from CYM: weiwang, boonteck & daye

The 39 Trackers have almost completed Phase I of their training and will embark on their mission trip after CNY. There will be four teams, one each going to Cambodia & India, and two to Thailand.

The Trackers will be graduating on Trackers 2008 Graduation --- Fri, 29 Feb, 7.30pm @ Bedok MC

During the graduation service, the Trackers will be sharing testimonies of what God has done in their lives, as well as the mission trips.

Do block out this date. It will mean a lot to the Trackers.

To all in CYM, Friends of CYM, Parents, Our partners,

Grace and peace be with you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

2008 is marked with new zeal for the Lord. As we see the ministry grow in numbers and strength, we can only give all glory and praise to our Lord who has blessed us so richly. We thank God for how He continues to work in our lives, and to bring many to know of His great Love. We are greatly touched by the lives that have changed and we look forward to how God will weave his plans through all of us continually.

In a nutshell, our four main areas of focus for CYM this year are, Discipleship, Outreach, Prayer and Structural.
Discipleship: We are serious about our youths walking right with, and cultivating a close relationship with the King of kings and Lord of Lords. We hope that our youths will grow in stature, maturity and Christ-likeness as they make tough decisions and assume responsibilities with the fear of the Lord.
Outreach: In line with the Chapel's vision, we believe that Outreach is an important element in the life of growing youths. From intentional outreach to follow-up and study groups, we pray that our Lord will equip us to accomplish His Great Commission.
Prayer: We thank God for our Overnight Prayer Meeting, where our youths were able to gather together for a wonderful time of prayer. We pray that everyone in CYM will have the joy of entering into God's presence through prayer, resulting in a prayerful climate.
Structural: We are looking forward to greater ownership from everyone in CYM, a ministry for Youths by Youths. We have seen a great display of youthful talents, initiative and love, especially during the recent Christmas Outreach and CYM Outing at EastCoast, which so evidently captured the vibrancy in CYM. We are confident that our youthful talents will be developed and nurtured, resulting in character formation. We also look forward to parents partnering with CYM to a greater extent so as to synergize our efforts.

To all parents, our dear partners in ministry, We thank God for, and are most grateful for your taking precious time off to dialogue with us during our Meet-the-Parents session earlier this month. We hope you were able to gain a better understanding of the purpose of, and programmes we have in store at CYM, as well as get to know some of the youth leaders and advisors. In our upcoming monthly business meeting, we will certainly be addressing some of the concerns and suggestions mentioned during our session together.

Finally let us press on toward the goal amidst the challenges that may come our way in 2008, knowing that our Lord is with us, strengthening us despite our weaknesses.

i chanced upon this story, and i think that mst of us might have read it before, but i thought those who haven't already did, might want to, cause it's quite touching man.

here goes:

The Christmas Gift.

A friend of mine (not really mine, just the dude who told this story) named Paul received an automobile from his brother as a Christmas present.
On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. "Is this your car, Mister?" he asked. Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas." The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn't cost you nothing? Boy, I wish..." He hesitated. Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels. "I wish," the boy went on, "that I could be a brother like that." Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?" "Oh yes, I'd love that." After a short ride, the boy turned and with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front on my house?" Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?" the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. "There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn't cost him a cent. And some day I'm gonna give you one just like it... then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that I've been trying to tell you about." Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. The shingled-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride. That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jesus meant when he had said, "It's more blessed to give...."

here's another, it's quite cute.
Christmas is for love. It is for joy, for giving and sharing, for laughter, for reuniting with family and friends, for tinsel and brightly decorated packages. But mostly, Christmas is for love. I had not believed this until a small elf-like student with wide-eyed innocent eyes and soft rosy cheeks gave me a wondrous gift one Christmas.
Mark was an 11 year old orphan who lived with his aunt, a bitter middle aged woman greatly annoyed with the burden of caring for her dead sister's son. She never failed to remind young Mark, if it hadn't been for her generosity, he would be a vagrant, homeless waif. Still, with all the scolding and chilliness at home, he was a sweet and gentle child.
I had not noticed Mark particularly until he began staying after class each day (at the risk of arousing his aunt's anger, I later found) to help me straighten up the room. We did this quietly and comfortably, not speaking much, but enjoying the solitude of that hour of the day. When we did talk, Mark spoke mostly of his mother. Though he was quite small when she died, he remembered a kind, gentle, loving woman, who always spent much time with him.
As Christmas drew near however, Mark failed to stay after school each day. I looked forward to his coming, and when the days passed and he continued to scamper hurriedly from the room after class, I stopped him one afternoon and asked why he no longer helped me in the room. I told him how I had missed him, and his large gray eyes lit up eagerly as he replied, "Did you really miss me?"
I explained how he had been my best helper. "I was making you a surprise," he whispered confidentially. "It's for Christmas." With that, he became embarrassed and dashed from the room. He didn't stay after school any more after that.
Finally came the last school day before Christmas. Mark crept slowly into the room late that afternoon with his hands concealing something behind his back. "I have your present," he said timidly when I looked up. "I hope you like it." He held out his hands, and there lying in his small palms was a tiny wooden box.
"Its beautiful, Mark. Is there something in it?" I asked opening the top to look inside. "
"Oh you can't see what's in it," He replied, "and you can't touch it, or taste it or feel it, but mother always said it makes you feel good all the time, warm on cold nights, and safe when you're all alone."
I gazed into the empty box. "What is it Mark," I asked gently, "that will make me feel so good?" "It's love," he whispered softly, "and mother always said it's best when you give it away." And he turned and quietly left the room.
So now I keep a small box crudely made of scraps of wood on the piano in my living room and only smile as inquiring friends raise quizzical eyebrows when I explain to them that there is love in it.
Yes, Christmas is for gaiety, mirth and song, for good and wondrous gifts. But mostly, Christmas is for love.

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
'I don't believe that God exists.'

'Why do you say that?' asked the customer.
'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine loving a God who would allow all of these things.'

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and un-kept.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: 'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'

'How can you say that?'
asked the surprised barber.
'I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!'

'No!' the customer exclaimed.
'Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.'

'Ah, but barbers DO exist!
What happens is, people do not come to me.'

'Exactly!'-
affirmed the customer.
'That's the point!
God, too, DOES exist!
What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.'

Guilt

Guilt From Unhealthy Self-Judgement

When we do something that harms someone, we experience a feeling called guilt. This kind of guilt is important to have because it keeps us in check. Otherwise we'd all think nothing of hurting others.

However, the kind of guilt many people experience is of a different and much less positive kind. In fact, you can say it has no rewards at all. This is the kind of guilt that you feel when you have actually done nothing wrong but because of certain born or bred mindsets, you're judging yourself to have been a bad person.

For example, some people feel responsible for all the happiness and unhappiness of their family members. A family member may be feeling needy and is increasingly seeking and wanting more of your assurances and help and time. Now of course you should help your family members but if you feel a deep sense of guilt every time you "weren't there" for example, or said something that appeared to hurt the other person, then you are falsely judging yourself.

You are not wholly responsible for your loved one's state of mind or happiness, although you can play a part. If a loved one becomes testy whenever you aren't able to fulfill a task he or she expected you to do, then you have become a crutch for them. For example, they aren't able to do simple things like calling a service provider or going to the doctor for a minor flu on their own.
When you make yourself wholly responsible for a loved one's happiness and feel guilty whenever you miss the mark, you're also teaching your loved one to be dependent. When this happens, the sense of betrayal just gets stronger and stronger each time you're not able to deliver. Needless to say, this only strains the relationship in the long run.

Now you know that you're not doing anything wrong, or directly damaging, yet you continue to judge yourself whenever others around you get upset. On some level you believe that by accommodating people all the time, you will get their love and acceptance. But it's doesn't work that way. Building up false expectations only builds disappointment and resentment.

Remember, you cannot control others' feelings and behaviour by doing things "right". You shouldn't judge yourself whenever you're unable to do things "right". Fully accept that you can't be wholly responsible for another person's feelings and release the self-judgement and guilt.

Icebreakers and Games

Here are suggested icebreakers and games.. pick and choose which one you wanna use ok?

Icebreakers

1. Sticko
Group is seated in two circles one inside another. One person is chosen as the “sticker”. He will chose a person to call out a name. Once a name is called, he must run over to tag the person. The person whose name is being called must prevent himself from being tag by shouting another person’s name. If the “sticker”succeeds in taggin the person, that tagged person will be the new “sticker”. If the “sticker” is not successful (when the person whose name is being called calls out the name of another person), then the “sticker” will have to search for the other person’s name.

2. Passing the Message
The groups are line up with their backs facing the front. The first person will be given a phrase. He will then have to pass the message down the line by actions. Each person is given a time limit to carry out their actions. Groups with the correct message will be awarded points. This will be the first group activity that will be awarded points.

3. Cheers
Groups are to come up with at least 1 cheer for use during the stations. GL are to facilitate in providing them with cheers and teaching them how the cheers are done.

Games

1. Charades Unlimited
Each group will send out a representative to act out a series of words and phrases for the rest to guess. Points are given for every right guess.

2. Chair Walk
Each group will have to traverse along a string of chairs from one end to another. They are not to step onto the floor at any point in time. The Gls and Station Master will ensure the safety of each player.

3. Blindfold Caterpillar Walk
The group is to be blinded folded.They are to stand in a line with each of them holding each other’s shoulders. They will then be lead by the GLs and the Station Master through a series of “obstacles”.

4. Land Mine
The group will be introduced to a large grid drawn on the floor by chalk. The grid will be numbered. The goal of the team is to try to walk through the mine-filled grid in the shortest possible time.

5. So you think you can dance?
Groups will be played a series of 3 genre of songs. They must dance to each music genre for 2 minutes. Anyone who stops dancing during this time will be “kicked” out. The most number of dancers remaining will be given points for scoring.

6. What is the Time?
The group will be arranged around a pillar with their backs facing the pillar. They are to hold hands and not break the chain when carrying out this station. One group member will be the hour hand, one member will be the minute hand and one member will be the second hand. In front of each player will be a number. When the station master shouts out a certain time, the group must rotate to the respective hour, minute and seconds consecutively. The timings will be taken down for scoring.

There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak...'I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright. I stopped the lad and asked, 'What you got there, son?' 'Just some old birds,' came the reply.

'What are you gonna do with them?' I asked.

'Take 'em home and have fun with 'em,' he answered 'I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time' 'But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do?'

'Oh, I got some cats,' said the little boy. 'They like birds. I'll take 'em to them.'

The pastor was silent for a moment. 'How much do you want for those birds, son?'

'Huh?? !!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister. They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!'

'How much?' the pastor asked again.

The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, '$10?'

The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone.

The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free.

Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story.

One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. 'Yes, sir, I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!'

'What are you going to do with them?' Jesus asked.

Satan replied, 'Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!'

'And what will you do when you get done with them?' Jesus asked. 'Oh, I'll kill 'em,' Satan glared proudly. 'How much do you want for them?' Jesus asked

'Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!'

'How much?' He asked again.

Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, 'All your blood, tears and your life.'

Jesus said, 'DONE!'

Then He paid the price.

The pastor picked up the cage he opened the door and he walked from the pulpit.

Notes: Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.?

Isn't it funny how someone can say 'I believe in God' but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also 'believes' in God)?
For example, i have this class mate, he thinks of himself as a christian,

Well..this is my very first post!
well its abit overedue...heh!sry..

well last week was really great as God helped me through the week..
i had a personal problem and yea He immediately got on it..!
and my prayer was answered on that day itself..!
God answers prayer..all the time!
its only if it come immediately or over a period of time!
and yea everyone got back their results too right?
well mine was quite horrid so i had to wait for the overall and umm..it was'nt up to my parents nor to my expectations..
but i did pass chinese which is like wow to me!!

hmm..well life is always full of ups and downs..but we always have to move on yea?
there are more blessings than failures in life ok?
its was quite an up and down week for me last week but i survived it with God walking right beside me!(:

well all i can do now is to studying duing hols wee~!
well remember that God is always there..He never leaves your side..
do not be anxious in anything and trust in Him with all your heart soul and mind!

If we are going to boast about something, we should boast about God.

I was just reminded of this today.
Our abilities are not important; Christ is. When we boast about ourselves, we draw attention to ourselves. When we boast about God, we draw attention to Him.

This doesn't mean we should put ourselves down. Instead we should have humility. There's a difference!

Our God is such a great Lord that he gave us all strengths of our own! So praise God for the gifts He's given you and use them to draw attention to Him =)

Reflections

Okay, its now my turn to share. I’ve picked a quiet time topic which is, “How important is acting the Word of God?”

An example given in the material is that two families got saved almost at the same time. But as time goes by, one family grew spiritually and was blessed richly but the other family always seemed one step behind. Both families attend the same church, hear the same preaching and even sat in the same choir. But the only difference is one just hear the Word and the other hear and acted on it. So conclusion is that its not enough for us to study God’s Word alone. We have to take a step further- become doers of the Word.

“Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like” –James 1:22-24

And this reminded me of another passage in the bible, from Mark 4:1-20 (Parable of Sower) I guess many of you know the story, so I don’t have to explain much. Just do read up when you have the time. Yea, and I hope that our CG will not only listen but also act on His Word and grow spiritually together. Be like seeds that fall on good soil and multiply richly(:

i regret rushing into things.
it seems like i keep forgetting my purpose in life.

a lot of things had happened this week, and most importantly i had learnt a lot through God.

as you guys know, i have a crush la(ask me if you dont know) and i still must wait for jon's approval :| haha. but through prayer and others, God has definitely shown me what to do.
like when im at the lowest point of the day, i just let it all out to God and He comforts me and always makes me feel better. (:

and im getting closer to some of my study group(everyday we study in church together)girlfriends and im really thankful for them, cause i can share my joy and sorrows with them. :D

this whole week theres been ups and downs, exams but most of all, i've learnt to rely an elephant or whale or more more on God. God is really cool, he speaked to me when i was upset.
and i hope my exams will pass. amen to that. :D

its like, wow God, you're awesome. you're a great cool God.
i love God. because He's with me allllllll the time, loving me no matter what naughty things i do! =)

Hi guys, I hope things are good back home in sunny Singapore. It's FREEZING here. so cold that I had to stop shopping and go home. Can you believe that? stop shopping! haha.

Anyway, hope you guys are following the 40 days of prayer booklet that the church gave out. I'd just like to share a passage from July 14th, about the Sabbath.

"What is the Sabbath? Simply put, it is a day of rest when we cease from our normal routines, our usual preoccupations with projects and profits. And while we do need physical rest for bodily rejuvenation, the Sabbath is not to be a do-nothing day. On the contrary, the Sabbath is for us to consciously draw closer to God, to take stock of our lives and to develop our spiritual relationship with Him. God intends for the Sabbath to be a delightful time, a holy day set apart for business with Him."

Go read Isaiah 58:13-14, it's a great scripture about the Sabbath.

Basically Sabbath is not about doing nothing or getting a chance to tell your parents "Oh it's the Sabbath so cannot do homework and can go play". NO.

I think that if we really honour the Sabbath and the fact that we need to spend it with God, we should organise our lives such that we have already finished all our homework or studying during the week and so that on Sunday we are free to have fellowship in church or just spend some time with Him.
know it's not easy to finish studying and all by Saturday but I'm sure if you guys put your mind to it, it can definitely be done.

And honouring the Sabbath is also about making sure you sleep early on Saturday night so you can wake up on Sunday morning to be on time for church. *hint hint to certain people*

Yup, hope you guys have learnt something and I think it would be great if we could use this QT material as a CG so that we can grow together as a CG and a church.
And if you have any questions about the material you can BOMBARD mel on Sundays! haha, kidding! feel free to ask me online too.

And I would definitely like to see you guys use this blog as a platform for spiritual growth.
I think our CG is bonded enough already. hahahhahaha. Forever only know how to fellowship fellowship. heh.

Hey guys n gals,

this is my first post on this blog. n really i wouldn't have if Charles didn't have a prayer requst he wanted to post. So, pls pray for Charles, he's searching for answers for a problem in his life. Jus pray that God shows him and reveals himself (i know, it sounds all profound n secretive but its not).

i also somehow or rather started reading all e posts ever posted on old blog n its kinda interesting to see wad was posted :p. Lyk how someone had this entry wif in HUGE RED CAPS TALKING ABOUT I DUNNO WAD, how u guys encouraged each other wif words of thxs after e food fair, how u guys keep each other updated on your lives even though u been absent for a while, and wad u guys have learnt in your life from God. So in line wif e whole thing, i decided to put my reflections on a problem, i think i'm prob still facing.

In my life, i tend to write when i need to express myself. Spoken words jus dun cut it or come out wrongly most of the time writing can help u really think through i guess.

Lesson i've learnt: God answers prayer, but it takes patience to have your prayer answered. And im not the only one with problems, just trust them to God. He has a purpose for you, and each plan is carefully carried out for a reason. He loves us and for the way we are, so we must love people like we love ourselves and learn to accept each other for the way we are. The choices we make should be according to His word and we should have discipline in order to learn more about Him. :D
